Official Heisman Profile: Click Here
Interesting Notes: Sullivan was a three-year starter for the Tigers and led them to an incredible 25-5 record and averaged well over 34.4 points and 425.8 yards per game in that time span…matched the all-time NCAA mark for 73 career touchdowns…was the first Heisman winner to play for one of John Heisman’s former teams…has been a college head football coach at TCU and Samford (his current position)…was elected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame in 1991.
Featured Card: 1973 Topps #251. As a Heisman Trophy winner and a second-round draft choice, there is little wonder that Pat Sullivan had a rookie card so early in his career. Unfortunately, his days in the NFL were few and relatively forgettable, and his rookie card value shows that. Of current eBay listings, the highest is just $2, with free shipping. This would definitely be a good pickup to add to or start a Heisman winners rookie card collection. Just don’t expect it to add much retail value to that collection.
