Interesting Notes: Crow won the Heisman Trophy despite playing in just 7 games his senior season due to injuries…was an all around student athlete who excelled on the field and in the classroom, being named an academic All-American…enjoyed a successful professional career with the Cardinals and 49ers, setting several rushing and scoring records…worked as an assistant coach on the college and professional levels…is still currently active in several foundations and serves as the Director of Development for Athletics at Northeast Louisiana University…was elected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame in 1976.

1959 Topps #105

Featured Card: 1959 Topps #105. Despite being an exceptional ball player, albeit not the most attractive ever, Johnny Crow has not garnered much hobby attention. Not only did he have to wait until his sophomore year to have his rookie card printed, current market prices indicate he is one of the more forgotten Heisman Trophy winners. There are currently just a few copies of this card listed on eBay with a small $4.80 – $9.00 range (although none of these listings are for graded copies). If you love vintage cards, rookie cards, or cards of Heisman Trophy winners, this would be a great card to kick start or enhance your collection.
