Setting Forth

Tonight I am going to see one of the greatest musicians of our generation tonight in Baltimore: Eddie Vedder. While this may not have anything to do with football cards, I am very excited about the show, so much that I am blogging about it. My friend will not tell me how close our seats are, but he has assured me they are fantastic seats and are very close, so that is only adding to my excitement.

The card below is none other than the rookie card of Mookie Blaylock. Why post a card of a relative nobody from the NBA in a post about a musician on a mostly football card blog? It is quite simple. As Vedder and the rest of the founding members of Pearl Jam began to form their band, they originally used the name “Mookie Blaylock” before realizing they may have a sort of copyright lawsuit on their hands. There is your tid bit of trivia for the day.

In other news, be on the look out for more box breaks in the near future. I have everything from my recent shopping spree, so it’s just a matter of busting all of it, scanning the good stuff, and getting it posted here.

The fact that he wore #10 was also a contributing factor to them naming the album Ten.

Correct you are, sir! I also chose this specific card because it was included in the super delux package of the re-release of Ten.
